Ambagon has an immediate opening for a Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist, Cell Biology. This role is an opportunity to join Bay area-based Ambagon as an early employee, bringing your scientific talent and passion to build the company.

The successful candidate will have an integral role in the planning and conduct of experiments that support Ambagon’s drug discovery efforts including, but not limited to:

• Design, develop and apply cell-based assays to evaluate new drug targets
• Design, develop and apply cell-based assays to drive drug discovery projects
• Evaluate new cellular assay technologies
• Analyze, organize, interpret and present experimental data
• Collaborate and interact with colleagues in design and conduct of experimental series
• Maintain clear and up-to-date experimental records and prepare study reports
• Perform other duties as required

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

• BS/MS degree in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field
• BS degree with 8+ years, MS with 5+ years related experience in cancer research or drug discovery in a biotech industry setting.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in mammalian cell culture
• Expertise in construct generation, site directed mutagenesis, and general molecular biology
• Strong experience with cell-based assay development
• Experience with CRISPR based technology desired
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent record keeping and organizational skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently
• Flexibility within a fast-moving start up environment

The expected salary range for the Senior Research Associate position is $94,000 - $115,000. The expected salary range for the Associate Scientist position is $105,000 - $120,000. Actual pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
