About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Associate to join our growing organization. As a member of the analytical team, you will report to the Analytical Team Manager and support development, validation, and operation of analytical methods for measuring key quality metrics of Lygos products and the raw materials used in their manufacturing. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and cross-functional team of technical and commercial personnel to ensure the quality of new sustainable bioproducts as they are being commercialized.  You will work closely with the Director of Quality Assurance to ensure that the methods and sample analyses meet the requirements of Lygos Quality Management Systems.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop new analytical methods for quality control of solid and liquid final products and in-process samples.
  • Validate new analytical methods using rigorous methodology conforming to requirements set out by Lygos Quality Management Systems
  • Operate analytical methods with appropriate standards, controls, and sample analysis documentation to allow for reliable and traceable quality control
  • Document methods completely and concisely enabling reproducible results at external laboratories
  • Install and qualify new analytical instrumentation as needed to develop / perform range of quality control methods (e.g. KF water, total acid number, viscosity, color, et cetera)
  • Conduct stability tests under controlled conditions to evaluate stability of finished products and analytical preparations
  • Coordinate and prioritize schedule for quality control analysis with input from key stakeholders to provide visibility on turnaround time 

 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • B.S. in Analytical Chemistry or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years developing, validating, and operating HPLCs and various other analytical instruments for quality control
  • Experience validating HPLC methods using rigorous methodologies, for example following ICH Q2(R1) or ISO guidelines.

 

Nice-to-haves (but not required):

  • Direct experience working in compliance of GMP, GLP, and/or quality management systems such as ISO, etc.
  • Experience with document control/management of SOP, Work Instructions, etc
  • Familiarity with industry standard test methods from organizations such as ASTM, USP, EPA, etc.
  • Development of Quality Control methods for new industrial bioproducts or their derivatives

Salary Range: up to $95,000 -  Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location, skill, experience, and performance.
