Carmot Therapeutics, Inc., is a clinical-stage biotechnology company applying its proprietary drug discovery platform, Chemotype Evolution (CE), to discover and develop disease-modifying therapies in metabolic diseases and cancer. Primary Responsibilities

• Produce recombinant proteins in E. coli, insect and mammalian expression systems to support structural biology efforts and biophysical/ biochemical assays.
• Perform crystallization screening and optimize conditions of co-crystallization of protein/ ligand complexes to produce high-quality crystals for X-ray diffraction.
• Biochemical/biophysical assays as necessary to ensure protein activity

Required Qualifications

• MS/PhD in biology, biophysics, biochemistry or related discipline with 2-3 years (MS) or 0-1 year (PhD) working experience is desirable.
• Experience in cell culture.
• Proficient in recombinant protein production/purification from E. coli, insect and mammalian expression systems.
• Experience in protein crystallography and/or cryo-EM is desirable but not required. A strong motivation to keep abreast of new techniques is required.
• Experience with biophysical/biochemical assays including thermal shift/direct binding assays is preferred.
• Ability to work in a diverse team setting.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, including clear and consistent lab notebook-keeping.

The salary ranges for these positions are as follows:

Senior Research Associate: $105,000 - $175,000 annually

Scientist I: $100,000 - $170,000 annually
