Role

This position reports directly to the Chief Business/Financial Officer and will work closely and collaboratively with the executive team. This professional will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing Tenaya’s investor relations program to increase the Company’s visibility with the investment community. This professional will develop the corporate message and communications materials and will communicate effectively with external and internal audiences. This professional will also collaborate with Finance and Legal for quarterly and annual financial reporting, with Clinical and Scientific for data presentations, and with Human Resources for employee communications.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, plan and execute a comprehensive, strategic investor relations program to increase Tenaya’s visibility with the investment community
  • Develop corporate messaging and materials, including press releases, Q&As, presentations, scripts, and website
  • Communicate proactively with current investors and analysts and target potential new investors and analysts
  • Plan, manage, and attend investor events, investor and analyst meetings, and roadshows; collaborate internally for medical, scientific, and industry meetings and data presentations
  • Analyze internal and external forecasts, data, and assumptions to provide aggregated view of expectations and implications for stock price and investor/analyst perception
  • Monitor analyst reports, peer news, and media reports to communicate internally about competitive information
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that corporate messages are consistent
  • Develop the Corporate messaging and branding for the company
  • Respond to inquiries from investors, analysts, and members of the media
  • Develop messaging and materials for employee communications and meetings

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS required, MBA or related Ph.D. desired
  • 10+ years of investor relations experience in a publicly-traded biotech/pharmaceutical company or at an investor relations firm working with biotech/pharmaceutical clients
  • Direct work experience in the investment community on the buy or sell-side a plus
  • Established credibility with the investment community and biotechnology industry

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of financial statements and valuation models
  • Understanding of SEC and FDA regulations impacting communications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative style working across internal and external teams
  • Impeccable judgement and maturity
