CellFE is a venture-backed company with a mission to make advanced therapies accessible to all by transforming the way gene therapies are manufactured. The company uses a microfluidics-based cell engineering platform that can be adapted universally to enable low-cost, high-yield manufacturing of gene therapies at scale.  CellFE's first generation of products is being developed for contract manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies that specialize in ex-vivo cell therapy and viral vector ("VV") manufacturing.

Position summary: Candidate will provide assistance to the engineering team in developing and optimizing a microfluidic-based cell therapy instrument and the related consumable.

This position is based in Alameda, CA and is reporting to the engineering team lead.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Operate microfluidic devices using CellFE patented technology
  • Create and execute on experiments based on goals relayed by the engineering team
  • Analyze experimental data and present results in a clear and critical manner
  • Per engineering guidance, perform component, subsystem and system level testing
  • Per engineering guidance, build and assemble prototypes
  • Write up reports of daily troubleshooting and lab activity
  • Install, adjust, inspects, maintain, repair, or provide technical support
  • Collaborate and discuss ways to improve products and equipment
  • Conduct regular maintenance on products and equipment.
  • Order and replace equipment parts

Qualifications:

  • Experience of 2 or more years in a relevant setting is highly desired
  • Minimum Associate's degree in engineering technology or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast-moving and dynamic research environment
  • Experience with microfluidic development and testing
  • Proficient with MS office suite and google suite
  • Proficient in soldering and wire assembly
  • Experience working with a multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer and leak tester
  • Experience with cell biology readout is a plus
