We’re Looking For...

A detail-oriented, enthusiastic Technician to join the Manufacturing Operations Team and support our efforts to design, produce, and characterize novel biomaterials at the pilot scale. You are excited by science and technology, love to learn how to do new things, and are curious about how things work. You will work closely with researchers within the group to learn how to perform essential lab functions. You learn quickly, pay attention to what you’re doing, and don’t make the same mistake twice. The scope of your work will expand from routine to more complex tasks as you develop new skills and build an understanding of what you’re doing. **Please note, this position is temporary for up to 1 year**

 

Within the first 30 days…

  • You will learn safety protocols for operating in a manufacturing environment
  • You will learn the procedures on how to operate equipment to carry out production processes
  • You will perform tasks based on written instructions guided by the manufacturing manager
  • You will operate lab instrumentation to collect data, and organize the results
  • You will carry out chemical processes with manual to semi-automated equipment
  • You will perform regular equipment maintenance to ensure production capacity and quality
  • You will troubleshoot challenges or unexpected behaviors during production
  • You will support maintain lab inventory, cleanliness, and organization
  • You will Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing, and report any health or safety issues
  • You will setup the production equipment and supplies before executing the job

 

This Team will be Excited to Have You Because You Bring...

  • A high school degree, associate degree or college science classes preferred
  • At least 6-months experience working in a manufacturing or customer service environment
  • Keen attention to detail, with an emphasis on accurate work
  • Ability to identify issues during operations, solve them or escalate to a manager when required
  • Recognize and correct potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicate this to the manager
  • General math and computer skills (data entry, task tracking, and organization, calculations in Excel)
  • Have a growth mindset: respond and look for ways to improve based upon feedback provided
  • Ability to work on your feet for 80% of your time and the capacity to lift 40 pounds
  • Be able to work all shifts flexibly (Weekdays 7am - 3:30pm; 3:30pm - 11:30pm & Possibly some weekends)
