Senti Biosciences is looking for an experienced Bioinformatics Scientist who will play a pivotal role in establishing our machine learning platform aiding in the development of next-generation cell and gene therapies.  The successful candidate will work in collaboration with a cross-functional team to create predictive models and analysis tools for data-driven design of genetic circuits. We are looking for someone comfortable with tackling a broad range of scientific problems of varying scope and complexity.


    • Strong computational background: Python (preferred), Java or C/C++
    • Experience building bioinformatics pipelines and data analysis tools
    • Significant experience in machine learning and algorithm development
    • Experience working with large data sets: creating, curating and organizing training data, visualization, statistical analysis
    • Understanding of basic software engineering concepts and practices
    • Understanding of model validation and optimization
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to start a project from ground up


    • Use public and in-house datasets to build predictive machine learning models
    • Build tools for analysis, visualization and interpretation of various data modalities: NGS, flowcytometry, imaging, etc
    • Collaborate with software engineers to build large-scale data processing pipelines
    • Help label, curate and organize experimental data to build machine learning datasets
    • Contribute development and expertise for ad-hoc analysis on interdisciplinary company projects

About You

    • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, statistics, computer science, math, etc.
    • Experience with NGS and analysing epigenetic, transcriptomic, and other -omic datasets
    • Experience working with relational databases
    • Familiarity with cloud computing such as AWS
    • Familiarity with modern open source tools in data science workflow
    • Nice to have: prior start-up experience
