Scientist, Cancer Immunology at Senti Biosciences

Summary: Senti Bio is seeking talented cancer biologists to contribute to our early stage projects, including the translation of novel technologies, in vitro and in vivo study design and execution, and generation of pre-clinical data on key disease indications leveraging the genetic engineering of human cells. A successful applicant will be able to independently drive a high risk/high impact research program, work collaboratively with the broader scientific and business team to meet milestones, and play a key role in building the culture of the company as it grows. Applicants should have current and extensive knowledge of cancer immunology, including tumor microenvironment effectors and signaling pathways, immune cell assays, and animal models. Prior experience with cell-based therapies in a drug development setting is highly desirable. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about the future of "smart therapeutics" and have the energy and boldness to thrive and grow in a dynamic and fast startup environment. Responsibilities: Plan, perform, and interpret scientific experiments in a laboratory setting Provide scientific expertise and leadership in multiple parallel projects Prepare regular presentations to the broader business and strategic team Stay current with cancer immunology methods, scientific literature, and participate in ideation and decision making meetings Lead and propose projects as needed, such as assessment of novel targets or experimental models Assist in milestone planning, budgeting, and team building/training

Ph.D. or equivalent with expertise in cancer biology or immunology At least 4 years of research experience Proficient with in vitro methods to assess pro-inflammatory/anti-inflammatory state in multiple cell types Proficient with mouse models of cancer Familiarity with pre-clinical development of cell-based therapies Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team
