You’ll wrangle robots so that our Lab team can run more samples with better accuracy. You’ll rebrain liquid handlers so that they do what you want when you want, and not a moment before. You’ll work with teams across the globe and close to home to keep our labs running in tip-top shape. You’ll develop procedures that will make your future colleagues praise your name. You can be an night-owl or an early-bird, both are welcome in our flock.

What the role entails:

Develop and program liquid handling robots
Build and maintain new liquid handling robots
Troubleshoot and proactively maintain automation equipment
Develop documentation for equipment validation and operating procedures to ensure successful implementation in the labs
Lead root cause analysis, implement/provide corrective actions and ensure their effectiveness
Create quality documents aligned to regulations and practices, revise quality documentation to better define, improve, or clarify practices, process and/or product quality
Provide ongoing support for lab personnel to make sure that robots operate at peak efficiency
Interface with cross functional teams to achieve end goals
Develop and integrate the automation systems and related software tools
Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally to support automation needs for other uBiome locations (up to 10% work time.)
What we are looking for:

Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
BS/MS in science or engineering discipline

Mechanical design using CAD software and rapid prototyping with 3D printers, laser cutters, and/or CNC mills
Basic electronic circuit design, layout, and assembly
Coding experience (Linux command line, Python, etc.)
Working knowledge of Git
Biotech, pharmaceutical, Lab automation providers, or clinical-laboratory experience
Technical proficiency and experience in automation and systems development and integration for the life science industry; especially with robotics and liquid handling systems
Extra Bonus: Spanish fluency
