In this position, the successful candidate will apply her/his skills and expertise in protein biochemistry to identify protein targets bound by Atreca antibodies using multiple strategies employing protein biochemistry techniques. These approaches will include pilot and preparative immunoprecipitation, antibody-antigen crosslinking, and chromatography for producing purified antigen for analysis by mass spectrometry. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in protein biochemistry as related to the identification and characterization of proteins driving tumorigenesis.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for conducting target identification efforts
Purification of antibody targets using immunoprecipitation and chromatography
Perform subcellular fractionations as needed including from radiolabeled cell cultures
Troubleshoot and devise alternative strategies as necessary
Manage target identification efforts conducted with CRO’s
Work with other project team members and communicate results with the team
Follow laboratory safety guidelines and practices
REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED: PhD with post-doctoral experience in protein biochemistry, preferably with a focus on immunology and/or tumor biology; 1-3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
Experience characterizing molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis using molecular biology and/or protein biochemistry techniques preferred
Experience with carbohydrate and/or lipid biochemistry is preferred
Experience managing research associates or technicians is required
Must have excellent trouble-shooting, organization, and planning skills, and the ability to work under timeline in a fast-paced environment.
