Role & Responsibilities
The Clinical Consultant (CC) will play an instrumental role by helping to establish the commercial infrastructure and for our novel PIVO technology. The CC oversees clinical best practice development and support for healthcare facilities and systems, while establishing and maintaining relationships with key administrative, clinical and educational leaders within these organizations. The CC is dedicated to working with our customers to improve clinical practice and patient care by providing or coordinating evidence-based product training, clinical procedural education and clinical consulting services. The CC also supports Health & Economics Outcomes Research and the field sales organization to advance product sales. The CNC product focus revolves primarily around the continuum of vascular access, IV therapy, infusion therapy, laboratory and phlebotomy practices.
The CC will work extensively with both sales and marketing as a clinical expert and patient advocate, ensuring our sales and marketing teams have a clinical understanding and advantage in the segment, all in a dynamic, fast paced early-stage environment.
The CC will also play a key role in developing our consultative approach to vascular access and expanding our thought leadership position in this space.
Lead, plan, organize and execute Velano new product training for customer implementations across the vascular access, IV therapy, infusion therapy, laboratory and phlebotomy domains.
Lead the development of clinical education service and consulting programs, fee for education products and consulting services associated with vascular access, IV therapy, infusion therapy, laboratory and phlebotomy domains.
Participate as clinical education lead in facilitating evidence-based procedural training programs focused on vascular access, IV therapy, infusion therapy, laboratory and phlebotomy. Participate as co-investigator/co-author in Health Economics (or Education) Outcomes Research Studies as requested.
Lead internal multidisciplinary programs to develop and improve the operational effectiveness of our implementation, education and consulting services.
Lead or participate in the creation of new clinical programs and education materials to help improve the performance of our clinical customers, field sales, marketing and technical teams.
Provide pre-sales needs assessment, gap and work flow analysis of existing practices, processes and policies within specified domain. Identify current areas of inefficiencies, patient/provider safety concerns, waste, less then optimal clinical practice and potential areas of improvement. Perform work flow, practice and policy redesigns with key customer stakeholders to facilitate achievement of best practices.
Provide consultation to position Velano Vascular’s products to support efficient workflow, current and anticipated clinical needs.
Perform follow-up practice and outcome reviews to determine solution optimization and customer value realization.
Guide customers post implementation in evaluation of current practices, develop action plan to assure care / procedure optimization and facilitate successful implementation of action items.
Identify customers who demonstrate best practices and work with them to produce testimonials, white papers and peer-reviewed published articles and presentations.
Identify and share clinical best practices to help achieve the highest possible levels of patient and caregiver safety and product utilization.
Function as the voice of the Customer and Patient.
Collaborate and build synergistic relationships with Sales, Marketing & Product Management, Research and Development teams, direct or contract clinical educators (CEs), Customer Advocacy and Training.
Minimum of six (6) years of experience in a patient care or hospital environment is preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years professional non-clinical experience working in a sales, marketing, consulting or similar business setting preferred.
Broad market development experience and/or demonstrated experience changing the patient standard of care.
A valid Driver’s License is required.
Proven ability to be an effective and timely communicator with co-workers and all levels of patient care team is required.
Required to work in a hospital laboratory setting and attending live patient cases.
Management skills when working with CEs, strong abilities to delegate tasks and able to manage multiple priorities and budgets.
Demonstrated successful multi-level value selling systems, concepts and solutions
Comfortable and/or experienced selling at the c-suite level (clinical/hospital environments).
Highly consultative business development approach and skillset.
Advanced knowledge of vascular access, IV therapy, infusion therapy, laboratory and phlebotomy preferred.
Strong time management skills with an ability to maintain numerous priorities and meet established deadlines.
Self-motivated, takes on additional responsibilities and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal skills.

Current RN (or similar) license, Bachelors required, advanced degree preferred
