uBiome is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Technology Transfer group. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Tech Transfer group and personnel, while working closely with an international team of scientists, technicians, bioinformaticians and data scientists, to support the future growth of the company’s scientific vision. In this role, you'll have a chance to develop and implement really impactful tests in the microbiome space while also participating in fundamental discoveries about the microbiome and how it influences health. We have teams working across multiple continents to impact the health and welfare of our patients and citizen scientists.
What you'll do
Develop collaborative relationships with key internal teams: Research and Development, production, automation, bioinformatics, product design
Work closely with the Research and Development group to design and execute experiments as well as scale and automate new technologies
Design and implement validation studies for new and existing technologies
Facilitate successful transfer of new or improved technologies to the production group by taking charge of all aspects of the process design, validation, documentation, and training
Stay on top of the latest external and internal scientific and technology developments (both basic and applied) and manufacturing strategies
Facilitate cross-functional relationships within the company, identify and resolve technical issues and support new research
Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports our Quality Systems and the appropriate regulations
Ensure all employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or related field
Expert in molecular biology techniques, including next generation sequencing, DNA extraction and amplification
Extensive knowledge of the biology of the microbiome
Experience operating and troubleshooting automated liquid handling equipment is highly desired
Proficient in data analysis and tools; python or R experience would be an asset
Demonstrated fearlessness and an ability to take on multiple complex tasks to determine the most effective approach and solution
Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively in all settings (senior management, partners, other internal stakeholders)
Flexibility and adaptability to different circumstances and expectations
