Contracts Manager - HEOR at Science Exchange

Everyday we’re helping to facilitate scientific collaborations between researchers at pharma, biotechs, universities, government facilities and CRU/CRO’s both in the U.S. and around the globe. These collaborations require several legal frameworks to be established between Science Exchange, our customers and CRU/CRO’s. We’re looking for someone to join our growing team who has a strong contracting background in Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR). We are expanding within a key client account to support their HEOR outsourcingcategory, and are hiring to grow the team in this area. You will join a team of subject matter experts in different contracting disciplines.

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in contract creation, contract negotiation, and the legal/compliance side of the HEOR industry. This position will report directly to the Director of Contracts and Compliance.

Responsibilities:

Develop, negotiate, and execute contracts including: HEOR Agreements both in the clinical and non-clinical space, HEOR protocols, Statement(s) of Work, Indemnity Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, Master Service Agreements, Sponsored Research Agreements, Fee-For Service Agreements and Intellectual Property agreements
Work closely with customer HEOR and business teams to manage HEOR service providers to ensure timely and successful completion of HEOR projects
Thorough knowledge of data rights for the collection/use of third party data, including privacy implications of individually identifiable data (e.g., requirement for HIPAA authorization or informed consent)
Deep understanding of TCPA and its foreign equivalent with respect to communications with patients
Knowledge of HEOR reporting obligations
Review and revise 3rd party contracts, identify contractual risks and recommend solutions according to best practices
Establishing and maintaining relationships with HEOR partners both on the demand and supply side
Develop and manage outgoing communication regarding Science Exchange’s HEOR process
Own the HEOR contracting process
Work alongside our external legal counsel to advise the company on other legal matters (e.g. Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Intellectual Property & Indemnification provisions)
Understand business practices in the life science industry
Support budget and milestone analysis for inclusion in HEOR contracts
Knowledge of different contract types (e.g. CR. FP, and T&M)
Understanding of export/import regulations

Requirements:

5+ years experience as a HEOR Contracts Administrator/Specialist
Thorough understanding of HIPAA and its global equivalents
Knowledge of the HEOR landscape
Understanding of budget creation/management
Provide operational expertise in HEOR categories
Strong listening skills, able to both listen to and interpret the legal needs of researchers, service providers, and companies
Organized, able to manage multiple agreements at the same time
Mediator, able to bring multiple parties together to form an agreement
Strategic, have a proven record of thoughtful and informed decision making
Passion for innovation - excited about the potential to disrupt the world of science
BS/BA in business, law, supply chain, or science discipline
Health Economics & Outcomes Research Certificate
Preferred: Understanding of compliance/privacy regulations, such as: GLP, GMP, GDPR
Preferred: Experience negotiating other types of contracts (e.g. Saas, finance, HR & IT)
Preferred: Experience working at a startup
