Description

We are seeking a highly skilled candidate to apply her/his skills to develop improvements and innovations in the molecular biology used in the generation of B- and T-cell immune receptor repertoires. The successful candidate will become a key member of the R&D team, deeply involved in experimental planning, troubleshooting and execution. She/he will perform experiments, analyze data, and to present her/his research findings to interdisciplinary teams. Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and attention to details are extremely important for this position.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Contribute to the execution of advances in the company’s molecular biology platforms producing natively paired immune receptor sequences and co-expressed genes
Providing molecular biology expertise (e.g. in Reverse Transcription, PCR, and DNA cleanup)
Contributing to patents, publications and technical reports
Follow laboratory safety guidelines and practices
Requirements:

A degree in molecular biology, immunology, or a related discipline
Bachelors with 2-5+ years, Masters with 0-5+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience focused on molecular biology research
ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED: 3+ years of intensive molecular biology bench work focused on Reverse Transcription and PCR reaction parameter design, improvement and optimization
Experience with qPCR, BioAnalyzer, Illumina Sequencing all a plus
Experience with low volume and single-cell amplification reactions
Experience with multi-plate assays, including massively parallel PCR or RT and relevant experience with automated liquid handling
Thorough understanding of molecular biology
Immunology, B-cell and T-cell biology is a plus
Self-motivated; possess a strong sense of urgency to drive a project to completion and ability to prioritize tasks accordingly
Candidate must be flexible and able to work in a team environment
Contamination control practices, including experience working in environments sensitive to amplicon contamination
