Business Development Manager at Quartzy

Quartzy is looking for a hands-on Business Development Manager to help us build a strong market position by locating, developing, negotiating, and closing business relationships with key suppliers. This role requires a thorough knowledge of marketplace business models and ideally, an understanding of the life sciences industry.

What You’ll Do:
Networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest
Strategically plan persuasive approaches and pitches
Develop negotiating strategies
Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials
Develop a rapport with new clients, set and meet mutual targets for sales, and provide operational support
Grow and retain existing vendor accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients
Building the data infrastructure, reports, and dashboards that help define our strategic business KPIs
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years experience in a business development or vendor management strategy role
Experience with sales operations and common CRM tools
Strong ability to identify opportunities and develop account strategies; strong negotiation and closing skills
Clear, effective verbal and written communication
Highly organized, strong attention to detail
BA or BS in a related discipline (business, life sciences, statistics, applied math, etc.)
