Senti Bio is seeking a talented scientist or engineer to lead the viral vector core facility to support research and development of novel cell and gene therapies. A successful applicant will have experience optimizing virus production and characterization assays, be able to organize and manage multiple parallel projects, and work collaboratively across various functional groups to meet time sensitive milestones. Applicants should have current knowledge of molecular and cell biology and familiarity with product development of cell and gene therapies.

Responsibilities

    • Mange research scale virus production pipeline to deliver material for the company’s novel cell therapy candidates, with emphasis on lentiviral vectors
    • Develop process for larger scale virus production (1-10L) for pre-clinical development
    • Troubleshoot and optimize assays to improve throughput, efficiency, and robustness
    • Develop thorough protocols, processes, and documentation practices to ensure quality of virus materials 
    • Collaborate with scientific project teams on technology development and transfers
    • Interface with process development and manufacturing teams to translate research protocols for clinical use
    • Manage and organize core facility infrastructure, ordering and inventory of supplies, and data management

Qualifications

    • Master’s degree or equivalent in a scientific or technical field
    • At least 4 years of research experience in a laboratory setting, preferably at a core facility or vector process development in a company setting
    • Hands-on proficiency with lentivirus production and transductions, cell culture assays, and qPCR
    • Familiarity with quality systems and documentation 
    • Ability to manage timelines and team members with focus on operational efficiency
