RESEARCH ASSOCIATE / SR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, IN VIVO PHARMACOLOGY at Atreca

The Research Associate (RA) / Sr. Research Associate (SRA) will work assisting the in vivo preclinical studies in Atreca’s oncology research program. In this role, the RA / SRA will be responsible for performing mouse necropsy and tissue harvest, interacting with various teams to coordinate tissue inventory of samples. The RA / SRA will work assisting the in vivo team in the daily maintenance of in vivo studies, assist administering test articles, performing in-life measurements typical of mouse efficacy studies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic scientific environment. Job title/compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform mouse necropsy, tissue collection and processing; coordinate the organization of inventory of samples
  • Assist mouse in vivo studies to evaluate anti-cancer efficacy of test agents in tumor mouse models
  • Working with the in vivo team, will support the daily maintenance of animal studies, performing daily checks, recording body weights and clinical observations; performing drug dosing by various routes of administration; entering data in animal management software
  • Availability to work on weekends (rotating schedule)
  • Follow laboratory safety guidelines and practices

 Required Experience: 

  • BS in Biology or related field with 3+ years of direct experience with mouse model research and hands-on experience with mouse tissue collection and processing
  • Absolutely Required: Demonstrated proficiency with mouse necropsy and tissue collection. And ability to work independently, to perform multiple in vivo tasks simultaneously and to report study data
  • Experience with mouse syngeneic and/or xenograft tumor models in a commercial vivarium is desirable
  • Experience with tasks related to efficacy studies: tumor cell implantation, tumor volume measurement, dosing of therapeutic agents by various routes of administration (IP, oral gavage and IV)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to collaborate with Atreca’s scientific team
  • Proficiency in animal welfare and overall knowledge of federal guidelines for animal care and use
